Celerio CNG And Diesel Variants To Be Launched Soon
India’s
biggest automobile company Maruti Suzuki will launch a Diesel and CNG variant
of the all new Celerio soon. The Celerio was launched this year in February
with AMT technology which made it the most affordable automatic-transmission small
car.
The
launch of the CNG variant will be in June 2014 and will be priced at Rs. 4.93L
(ex-showroom Mumbai) and will not get the AMT transmission which means it will
be available only in Manual Transmission option. The addition of a CNG cylinder
at the boot means that the already small 235-litre boot space will be reduced
to no use for significant amount of luggage while.
Although
for going on far-off places for vacation with your family would be a struggle
(due to lack of boot space and reduced engine power due to CNG), it will
definitely give you returns commuting within your city for you daily needs.
The
present Celerio is already a huge success and has raked in a lot of sales and bookings
for the company. The AMT equipped Celerio comes in two variants LXi and VXi
priced at Rs. 4.36L and 4.66L
(ex-showroom Mumbai). Surprisingly the top-end variant ZXi does not get the AMT
transmission.
The
Celerio is powered by 998cc K10B K-series petrol engine which delivers
68PS@6000rpm of power and 90Nm@3500 amount of torque. The engine is BS4 and
OBD-II complaint. The same engine is expected to power the CNG variant.
We
will update you soon on the details of the diesel variant. Stay tuned!
