Porsche Launches Boxster GTS & Cayman GTS In India
In what’s a first time move from Porsche India, they
have expanded their GTS principle to also include the mid-engine sports models
of the Boxter and Cayman; also boasting of the Porsche Active Suspension
Management (PASM) chassis.
The recently launched models provide enhanced
performances; in part due to modifications in the six cylinder boxer engines,
drawing inspiration from the Boxster S and the Cayman S. As such, the Boxster
delivers a staggering output of 330 hp, and the Cayman GTS at ten hp more. With
the standard Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK gearbox) and Sport Plus mode, the
Boxster rages from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and the Cayman coming on top at
tenth of a second faster.
With a top speed of 279 km/h and 283 km/hr respectively, the Boxster and Cayman ensure an overall fuel consumption of 8.2l/ 100 km, as measured by the New European Driving Cycle.

Anil Reddi, Director, Porsche India, says: “With the
introduction of the GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman, we are catering to
Porsche purists and true sports car enthusiasts in the country. These two new
Porsche sports cars excel visually and dynamically, and assure a rewarding
ownership and driving experience.”
The PASM is a standard feature of both models, offering drivers of a sportier or more comfortable choice at the touch of a button. As is common with other GTS models, the Boxter and Cayman come with standard sports seats and Alcantara element leather interiors.

GTS, denoting “Gran Tourismo Sport”, has delivered
outstanding performance ever since the classic 904 Carrera (1963).
Porsche is now extending the GTS principle to the
Boxster and Cayman series. In the 1980s and 1990s the 924 GTS and 928 GTS
cultivated this principle. It was reborn in 2007 in the form of the Cayenne
GTS, and was subsequently also implemented in the 911 series and the Panamera.
