Tata Showcases HEXA Concept At Geneva Motor Show 2015
Joys of joy as the 2015 Geneva Motor show marks the
launch of the newest MPV addition in the desi-motor Giants TATA’s range. Yes
the home-grown Giants have launched a very own 6-seater MPV called the “TATA
HEXA “-concept at the motor show this year. Although on first glance HEXA
shares a lot more the same look wise as its brother TATA Aria with the
honeycomb grille and a very new day-time running headlamps with newly designed
split fog lamps, the HEXA shows the potential to be the trump card of this
year’s MPV section.
The car is 4.764 m long, 1.895 m wide, 1.780 m tall
and has a wheelbase of 2.850 m. Also, TATA is going to use its 2.2 litre
4cylinder VARICOR diesel engine which will produce a decent 154 bhp. However
this isn’t just the best part, TATA has also fiddled with the techno-grooves by
giving it ESP (electronic stability program) and a very new terrain response
system which you will find in cars like the Land Rover Evoque, which is also,
is owned by TATA now. The new body is much more muscular and new bumper with
duo-tone colour makes it much better with the duo exhaust pipe and the new LED
tail lamps.
While the HEXA’s 19 inch
of alloys and prominent wheel arches gives a very commanding upright riding
position, the interior is clever and has given much thought. The interiors of
the HEXA concept packs a punch with the dual tone and a prominent touchscreen
interface, climate control and dedicated buttons for 4WD. The HEXA comes with a
six seating configuration with “captain chairs” in first two row, which mean
there will we space and a splitting bench seat at the third row However I still
speculate that the third row will have a cramped leg room. The HEXA also have
LED mood-lighting interior lamps, six airbags including side and automatic
headlamps along with rain-sensing wipers.
So coming to a conclusion
that TATA has pulled an ace from their sleeves but it’s still a concept car and
TATA has made no comments regarding the production. Well car this good looking
and well equipped we can only hope that TATA soon get it in production and
don’t make a hash of pricing of the car.
its good that tata is now lauching new products but it needs to do more on quality and finishing aspects of its vehicles only then can it hope to regain its lost market share in aspiring Indian market.
ReplyDeleteThankfully TATA has clearly mentioned that they have give emphasis on quality this time.
