2015 Facelift Volkswagen Vento Launched
Recently, Volkswagen has launched the facelift VW Vento 2015 in the
Indian market. The new vento will be available in a variety of different variants
to suite the customers needs. These include the 1.6 MPI with 5- speed manual
transmission, the 1.2 TSI with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and the 1.5
TDI with a 5- speed manual transmission.
FEATURES, LOOKS AND DESIGN
Safety is of paramount importance thus Dual Front Airbags are provided in the Vento across all the variants as standard, it comes with ABS (in Comfortline and Highline) ESP and Hill-Hold Function (in DSG varients). There are quite a lot changes in the exterior of the vento. These include electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated LED turn indicators and more powerful front fog lamps
with integrated cornering lights, for the benefit of
the driver. Lending a stylish touch to the premium sedan are the new front
grille, alloy wheels and chrome lining on the boot lid, exhaust tip and door
handles. The interiors of the new Vento have been further enhanced with subtle
style changes and premium finish that is characteristically Volkswagen. In
addition, Cruise Control is also being offered that further enhances the driving
pleasure.
UNDER THE HOOD
The new Vento’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI turbo-diesel
engine produces 105 PS of power and 250Nm of torque, which provides impressive
onroad performance, clocking a fuel economy figure of 21.50 kmpl, as per ARAI.
The 1.2 TSI engine produces 105 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque, delivering a
fuel economy of 18.19 kmpl. The 1.6 MPI engine produces 105 PS of power and 153 Nm of torque, with a fuel efficiency of 16.09 kmpl.
PRICE
The Car goes on for sale from 23rd June, 2015.
The Ex-showroom (Mumbai - without Octroi & local taxes) prices start at Rs.
10.91 – 11.64 lakh for the New Vento 1.5 TDI DSG, Rs. 8.93 – 10.47 lakh for the
Vento 1.5 TDI, Rs. 9.68 –10.42 lakh for the Vento 1.2 TSI DSG and Rs. 7.70 –
9.24 lakh for the New Vento 1.6 MPI.
COMPARISON
The Vento competes with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda
City, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Nissan Sunny and Ford Fiesta in the Indian

The Verna is the most powerful and popular car in the segment
followed by the Honda City. All cars offer a manual and automatic transmission
gearbox. The Vento and the Rapid only get the DSG gearbox option. Thanks to a 7 percent increase in fuel efficiency, the
Vento TSI is the second most fuel efficient of the lot, but the Ciaz continues
its reign in this department.

The Verna is the most powerful car
producing 128 PS of power followed by the Vento (105 PS). The Verna, Vento and
the Rapid are the only cars to offer an AT variant. The Vento is the Second
most expensive car in this lot whereas the Verna continues to be the most
expensive.

all its New Enhanced changes the new VW Vento is all set to thrill the Indian
buyers and become the best selling Sedan in the country providing constant
