Hyundai Creta To Be Launched On July 21
Official sketch released by Hyundai |
With Hyundai all set to
launch its baby SUV on 21st July, the already competitive compact
SUV market is again going to heat up. Hyundai Creta is one of the most
anticipated cars to be launched this year. It is based on the ix25 which
Hyundai sells in global markets. The company hopes to get a stronghold in the
compact SUV segment and will fight for the crown with the established Renault
Duster, Nissan Terrano and the Ford Ecosport.
The Hyundai Creta follows
Hyundai’s much popular Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy. The official design released
by Hyundai shows that the Creta will have a look and feel similar to the elder sibling,
the Hyundai Santa Fe, like the hexagonal radiator grille and the tall stance.
It will have spacious and airy cabin and interior space and like every other
Hyundai, the Creta too will come loaded with features and comforts.
The Creta will likely share
its engine with the Verna and is expected to come with 1.6litre and 1.4litre
options for both diesel and petrol variants. It may come with some India
specific changes. Though there hasn’t been any word from Hyundai regarding its
pricing, the Creta is expected to be priced between 8-13 lakhs.
The going won’t be easy for
the Creta once it is launched, and with Maruti Suzuki bringing in the S-Cross
around the same time, we can certainly expect some fireworks in the race to the
top of the segment.
