Jaguar F-type R Joins Bloodhound
Jaguar
will unveil the F-TYPE R AWD BLOODHOUND SSC RRV at Coventry Moto Fest - one of
the cars that will support the Bloodhound world land speed record attempt. The
Bloodhound F-TYPE R is the latest project of Jaguar Land Rover's Special
Vehicle Operations.
There
aren’t many cars that will outpace the Jaguar F-Type R, the 550-hp, AWD coupe
from Coventry. But when this particular F-Type R coupe is put to service, it’ll
look like it’s standing still—next to the Bloodhound SSC, a
rocket-and-jet-powered land speed car aiming to break the 1609-kmph barrier.
Should all
go to plan during the actual record attempt Bloodhound SSC could top 1609kmph –
comfortably eclipsing the current record of 1228kph, set by Andy Green in
Thrust SSC, in 1997. Andy will also pilot Bloodhound in the new record attempt.
