Nissan Opens Online Qualification For GT Academy In India From June 2

It’s a captivating news for all aspiring racers and gaming geeks as Nissan has begun the registrations for the 7th season of the Nissan PlayStation GT Academy competition in India . Nissan in collaboration with Sony Entertainment Network provides a big platform for all people hankering in the field of professional racing. GT academy has turned many gamers into professional drivers in racing. GT academy, (GT abbreviated as Gran Turismo) is an international event that mainly emphasize on transforming the virtual gaming experience into the real time driving.

The contest comprises different phases. Players begin with virtual racing on PlayStation’s Gran Turismo, and progress to National Finals before the winners of each region compete for real in Nissan cars at Race Camp. This experience involves week-long testing and challenges which can result in elimination. Race Camp has been based at Silverstone Circuit, UK, where the title of GT Academy Winner is awarded to whoever demonstrates the greatest potential to make the switch from Gran Turismo gamer to real racer. This acts as a gateway for aspiring racers to get into professional racing world. The competition has already set a benchmark across various European nations with the hopes of achieving similar results in India. The fascinating part of the competition is that the Winner of GT academy Asia gets an opportunity to race in 24 hour race to be held in Dubai in January 2016.


The entrants in India for GT academy contest has to undergo qualifying rounds through online featured access for all gamers having Sony Entertainment account, Play Station 3 and Grand Turismo 6 game or via live events held across various cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai etc. The contestants have to pre-register for the live event from Nissan Website. Online entrants have an advantage as they get unique and exciting opportunity to put the innovative new Nissan GT-R LM NISMO car through its paces at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the Le Mans 24 Hours, before the car makes its real-life debut in the world-famous race.


The final round of qualifying race will go live starting from 2nd of June to 16th of June just after actual Le Mans race. Total of 20 contestants from online and live events are selected for national finals and after undergoing various physical and mental examinations, only six finalists will move to the famed Silverstone Race Camp to compete in the GT Academy Asia, which also includes winners from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Japan.The upcoming GT academy contest hosted by Nissan and its partners has created a great sense of enthusiasm among aspiring contestants.GT academy contest not only exudes an international platform to motor racing aspirants, but also converge the orifice between ‘virtual to reality’ concept of driving.
