Suzuki Set To Unveil Its Premium Hatchback Baleno At Frankfurt Motor Show
Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp has named its premium YRA hatchback as Baleno. The company will unveil it in the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. The company's Indian arm Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is expected to launch the model in the domestic market around the festive season this year. The car will be sold through company’s premium NEXA showrooms which also sells the recently launched premium crossover S-Cross.
Although the new model shares name with erstwhile premium sedan Baleno, the company said "there's nothing common between the two models. They are completely different." Maruti Suzuki had discontinued the mid-sized sedan Baleno in 2006 and was replaced by the SX4 later on. The company currently has Ciaz in the premium sedan segment.
Company has made the car enthusiast curious to know
about the features of the car by not releasing the technical specifications. It is expected that the
car will come with the 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET direct-injection turbocharged
gasoline engine which Suzuki says is a newly developed unit which will offer
enough power and great fuel efficiency.
However, all these features will be confirmed only when the company comes out
with an official statement related to the release date and the technical
details of the car. After its launch, Maruti Suzuki Baleno will compete against Honda Jazz
and Hyundai Elite i20 in the market.
Baleno is constantly my love. When others ask me brezza vs creta, I always say baleno is better.
