Mahindra Sales Report for August 2015
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
(M&M Ltd.), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, recently announced its auto
sales numbers. At 35,634 units during August this year, it was insignificantly
higher as against 35,180 units during August 2014, however, in a negative car
market right now, maintaining its position is commendable enough.
The Passenger Vehicles segment
(which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold lesser units at 14,198 units as
against 15,321 units during August 2014. The company’s domestic sales are the
one that took the hit at 32,122 as against 33,150 last year. It was the Medium
and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment that registered a growth of 21%, selling
341 units and the export market showed an even higher growth of 73% with a sale
of 3,512 units.
Speaking on the auto sales
performance, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), M&M
Ltd. said, “While currently we are witnessing fragmented recovery in auto
sales, we are hopeful that the upcoming festive season will provide a much
needed fillip to the auto industry. Our export sales have grown with a record
high of 73% compared to previous year. Overall we have had a positive month and
the launch of new models is expected to further improve overall performance. At
Mahindra, we are gearing up for an exciting launch of our forthcoming TUV300.”
