Mercedes Introduces New Models Nomenclature

German automaker, Mercedes Benz has introduces new nomenclature for its upcoming cars in Indian market.

All the SUV models will now contain GL letters. 

• The GL car will now be called GLS.
• The ML car will be called GLE.
• The GLK car will be called as GLC.

All the Roadster series will now contain SL as common letters.

• SLK will now be called SLC

Moreover, a new letter is added as a suffix for example, S 350 d means S350 diesel variant.

The new designations will be :

• c for compressed natural gas
• d for diesel
• e for electric
• f for fuel cell
• h for hybrid
• 4matic will retain its name.
