Tata Motors Launches New Variant of Safari Storme

A new form of Safari Storme launched by Tata Motors will be available in the market named as Safari Storme VX and is powered by a new 2.2L VARICOR 400 engine. The newest edition will be available in both 4x2 and 4x4 drive options.

The new 2.2L VARICOR 400 engine churns out 156 HP of power and 400Nm of torque which is delivered through a new 6-speed manual gearbox with a self-adjusting clutch, for a perfect balance for power and performance. The power delivers to all 4-wheels with a Shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system and the vehicle being fitted with Limited Slip Differential (LSD) to allow both of the wheels to rotate at different speeds.

The vehicle features Tata Motors new integrated 'ConnectNext' system with 6-speaker surround sound by Harman. The 3-spoke steering wheel boasts smart control features and an ergonomic grip for a superior command and convenience. Speed Dependent Volume Control, Bluetooth Hands Free, with CD/MP3/Radio/Aux/USB and iPod connectivity, Phone Book Download, Audio streaming and a Reverse Parking Sensor Display are the updated features of this 'connectnext' system.

Performance & Safety:

The new Safari Storme VX is a sophisticated vehicle, delivering a performance of 0 - 100 km/hr in less than 13 seconds. As per ARAI, it has a fuel efficiency of 13.9 kmpl. The new VARICOR 400 engine, turbocharged with VTT (Variable Turbine Technology), delivers 156 PS power & 400 Nm torque, providing easy drivability, swifter response and lower NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness). The 4X4 variant also features ESOF (electronic shift-on-fly) technology, enabling engagement of the 4X4 or 4X2 mode on the move.

The rigid ladder frame chassis of the Safari Storme constructed with advanced hydro-formed members for high structural strength, adds robustness, enabling best load carrying capabilities, enhancing rigidity, while simultaneously reducing weight.

The vehicle possessed with a ground clearance of 200mm, with a gradability of 33% shows the off -road ability of the vehicle. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) & Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) together supports the better control of the on every type of terrain. The Safari Storme has a turning radius of about 5.4m which makes the driving and maneuvering in tight confines, absolutely easy.

The safety features of the vehicle includes Crumple zones, side intrusion beams on all four doors, dual SRS airbags and the collapsible steering column keeps passengers safe from all sides. In addition to this, there are features like the inertia switch and an auto engine immobilizer. In the time of crisis, the inertial switch automatically cuts off the fuel supply to the engine, unlocks all the doors and also switches on the hazard warning lights, warns other road users. And the vehicle is also fitted with PES headlamps for better illumination and unwanted glare.

Looks & Style:

The new Safari Storme has a fresh colour options of Charcoal Grey and Ocean Grey at the upper and lower front look grill. The roof rails of Safari Storme support perceptive changes, adding to the sportiness of the vehicle. A new diamond motif has been adopted in creating a classier effect.

The interiors of this new edition have a Java Black colour theme, highlighted by a Warm Silver accents on the dashboard and door handles. And also the interior seat fabric has a contrast stitching.

Luxury & Comfort:

The new Safari Storme has ample leg space and headroom to accommodate a family of '5' in comfort with plenty of luggage space for longer rides. Self adjusting clutch facilitates the seamless gear shifting and a smooth ride. The 5-Link Suspension with Coil Springs for the rear wheels, with double wishbone suspension at the front, adds to the ride comfort.

The newly integrated ‘ConnectNext’ infotainment system by Harman of the new Safari Storme along with Tata Motors new Signature Multi-Functional Steering Wheel, with integrated controls gives convenience to driver. The range is available in four variants VX, EX and LX in five classy colors - Arctic Silver, Urban Bronze, Pearl White, Astern Black and Arctic White

This new Safari Storme has a range of accessories, designed and validated in-house, by Tata Motors Genuine Accessories. For outdoor enthusiast, Tata Motors Genuine Accessories also offers a range of camping equipment all of which can be purchased at all Tata Motors PV Dealerships. The Safari Storme will be offered with a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 kms, whichever is earlier, extendable upto 4 years or 150,000 kms.

The newest addition to the Safari Storme family, the Safar Storme VX is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 drive options, and is priced @ Rs 13,25,530 for the 4X2 option, with the VX 4X4 option priced at Rs 14,59,952.
