Yamaha Hosts Three Times World MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo
Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, hosted the three time World MotoGP
champion Jorge Lorenzo in India for the second time for promoting motorsports. Indian biking and
motorsport lovers welcomed him to ride Yamaha's flagship 300cc bike in India YZF - R3 on
the race track at Buddh International Circuit.
The purpose of the Champion's visit to India is to
cheer- up and encourage the motorsports enthusiasts, to initiate the interest
among the young generation towards this field and also in bracing the
Motorsports fan community. At the Buddh International Circuit, Lorenzo met 30
lucky winners of R3 owners and they have gotten an opportunity to share the track with this MotoGP champion in
a riding session.
On this remarkable occasion, Managing Director of
Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Masaki Asano says, " We are
delighted to bring Lorenzo for the second time in India and present him to the
Indian Motorsport fans.'' He added that Lorenzo has helped Yamaha to win
another championship. He also adds that motorsports has been an integral part
of Yamaha's corporate system and this visit of Lorenzo shows the Yamaha's
commitment towards the promotion of motorsports in India.
Yamaha also hosted the MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi
during the 2010 Auto Expo. For this time, Lorenzo rode the R3 and was all
praise for the bike. Since from the launch, R3 has received rave reviews from the critics as
well as customers and that results in huge surge of sales in last couple of
months.
Jorge Lorenzo, the current world MotoGP champion
expressed his happiness in coming back to India, thanked all the fans in India
and all over the world for their continued support and also thanked Yamaha for
organizing this visit. He added that, BIC is the international track of
international standards and riding R3 with Indian enthusiasts was a great
experience and he expected India to be as major force in motorsports in times
to come.
Lorenz joined the MotoGP Yamaha Racing team in 2008 and he has not looked back from then, won many titles and races. By 2012, Lorenzo became the first Spanish rider to win
multiple premier class titles. And By 2015 , he became the Spanish rider with
the most wins in MotoGP.
