Royal Enfield Himalayan Unveiled, Price To Be Announced In March
Royal Enfield the most iconic motorcycle brand in India has unveiled yet another new exciting motorcycle - the Himalayan, and this time it is not based on the any of the existing platforms. The Himalayan is made right from scratch, from an all new engine the to a completely new designed body and framework. The Himalayan is an all terrain, multi-purpose bike built especially for adventure and touring in the Himalayas.
The new RE paves the way for a purer, non-extreme and more accessible form of adventure touring in India.Built on a rugged duplex-split cradle frame the new Himalayan boasts a massive 220mm ground clearance ensuring it gobbles up obstacles with ease. The bike is powered by an all new long stroke LS410 engine that delivers 24.5bhp of power and a maximum torque of 32Nm, even at lower RPM's making it easy to climb hills and maneuver through traffic.
The Himalayan swanks a large 15-litre fuel tank for long range, many luggage mounting points for luggage and jerry cans. It has a simple instrument cluster that keeps track of speed, direction, temperature and many such stuff. Most importantly, the Himalayan has an accessible 800mm seat height with lower mass-balance to ensure ease of planting feet on ground for complete control. The RE's Himalayan boasts both front and rear disc brakes with dual-purpose tyres for confident grip and performance accross a range of conditions. The price for this multi-purpose vehicle has still not yet been announced and is likely to be announced by late March.
In addition, Royal Enfield has also introduced meticulously designed, purpose built protective riding gear and riding suits including versatile touring jackets, trousers, riding gloves, boots etc. RE has also invested significant time and effort in testing the Himalayan, and the bike is more than the sum of its parts: not only does it deliver on its intent of being a purpose built motorcycle for the himalayas, it is extremely versatile to be a daily commuter in city traffic. The bike would be available in 2 colour options: Granite and Snow.
