Tata Motors Partners With IIT Bombay On Various Engineering Education And Research Collaboration
Recently, Tata Motors signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay to create a technological partnership in areas of mutual benefit and interest. Mr. Gajendra Chandel, Chief Human Resource Officer, Tata Motors Ltd., and Professor Devang V Khakhar, Director, IIT-B, signed a five year MoU, with an objective to ensure the engineering needs of the future automotive industry. Under this MoU, joint R&D projects will also be undertaken for development of new technologies in various engineering domains.
On this occasion Professor Devang V Khakhar, Director IIT-B said that this partnership will enable joint basic research in specific areas which will feed into the future products of Tata Motors as well as advanced training of Tata Motors personnel. The faculty and students will greatly benefit by exposure to current industry practices and the roadmap of the future growth of the industry.
This partnership will involve Tata Motors leveraging the top academic talent in the country. It will help the company to not only build its functional expertise through research collaboration but also contribute to strengthening the industry readiness of the talent stepping out of campuses through curricula building, live projects and various engagement interventions. Tata Motors has clearly charted its technology roadmap. The company has identified areas of excellence and to meet these requirement, it plans to create talent pool and be the destination of choice for automotive engineering professionals.
