Tata Motors Launches Tiago At Just INR 3.20 Lacs

Mumbai, 6th April 2016: Tata Motors, on what was supposedly the biggest day in the year for them, stunned everyone by launching the all new compact hatch Tiago at an incredible starting price of INR 3.20 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi). Complete price list given at the end of the article.

Definitely the biggest launch from the Tata Motors stable this year, the Tiago carries the burden of reviving the Indian automobile manufacturer's fortune in the passenger car market.

The Tiago will come with two engine options - a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05-litre all new Revotorq diesel engine. Both which are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, Tata Motors have decided not to offer the Tiago with an AMT gearbox.

Tiago 1.2L Revotron

The petrol Tiago is powered by a 3-cylinder 1,199 cc unit which produces max power of 85 PS @ 6,000 rpm and max torque of 114 Nm @ 3,500 rpm. The Revotron engine is equipped with multi-drive modes of Eco & City. The company claims the petrol Tiago delivers a mileage of 23.84 kmpl. The petrol Tiago starts at an attractive price of INR 3.20 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Tiago 1.05L Revotroq

The diesel Tiago is powered by a 3-cylinder 1,047 cc unit which produces max power of 70 PS @ 4,000 rpm and max torque of 140 Nm @ 1,800 - 3,500 rpm. The Revotorq engine is also equipped with multi-drive modes of Eco & City. The company claims the diesel Tiago delivers a mileage of 27.28 kmpl. The diesel Tiago starts at an attractive price of INR 3.94 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Both the petrol and diesel Tiagos will be in 5 variants XB, XE, XM, XT & XZ with optional variants in XE, XM & XT. Please note, all the prices are introductory and are subject to revision in near future.
