Renault Lodgy Averages 42kmpl, Completes Delhi to Mumbai Within A Full Tank

The Renault Lodgy, launched back in April 2015, achieved an unusual milestone of covering Delhi to Mumbai trip in less than a full tank. To prove its outstanding fuel efficiency, the Lodgy covered 1388 kms from Delhi to Mumbai by using only 32.91 litres of diesel which translates into a mind boggling mileage of 42 kmpl for the trip.

The idea behind this drive was to prove that the 1.5L dCi (common rail direct injection) engine is a very frugal unit and how a large tank and smart driving techniques can break a new ground in performance and fuel efficiency. The drive was started from Delhi covering Jaipur, Udaipur and Vadodara. The officials of Ernst and Young ensured that the fuel tank was sealed at the starting point and remained sealed throughout the journey.

The Lodgy plays an important role in Renault's lineup in India as it marked the French company's foray in MPV segment. Renault has very aggressive plans in India and it is leaving no stone unturned to dig into the market with its exciting product lineup of Duster, Kwid and the Lodgy.
