New Delhi, February 28, 2017: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today launched the fourth generation upgrade of its iconic 110cc scooter with new BS-IV and AHO compliance – Activa 4G – the world’s largest selling two-wheeler in 2016.
The launch from Honda comes at a time when 110cc automatic scooters have become the fastest growing segment of Indian 2Wheeler industry. And Honda leads the pack with an overwhelming 58% market share in automatic scooter segment.
Commenting on the new edition, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing said,
“With trust of nearly 1.5 crore Indian families, Honda’s iconic Activa is the first automatic scooter to become not only India’s but also world’s number 1 selling two-wheeler in 2016. The fourth generation BS-IV complaint upgrade of the most loved family scooter - Activa 4G is ready to delight customers once again with added convenience of mobile charging socket & new colors.”
The Activa 4G is ahead of its time and comes equipped with Combi Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer technology. (As per Government regulations, CBS will be mandatory on all two-wheelers up to 125cc engine capacity from April 1, 2018).
The unique Equalizer in Honda’s advanced Combi Brake System (CBS) distributes braking force proportionately between front and rear wheels simultaneously by pressing just the left lever. This results in reduced braking distance & improved balance, leading to more confident riding compared to conventional braking.
The Activa is powered by the reliable 109cc Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine which delivers power of 8 bhp @ 7500 rpm and torque of 9 Nm @ 5500 rpm ensures smooth performance on road.
The all new Activa 4G is available for sale at Rs. 50,730 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
